Project: Window Installation for The Hope Foundation

We were honoured to support The Hope Foundation in Middlesbrough, a long-established local charity dedicated to reducing disadvantage, loneliness, and digital exclusion since 1995.

Supporting a Community Anchor with Practical Improvements

Location: The Hope Foundation, Middlesbrough

The foundation has been a trusted name in the community for decades, with a mission rooted in inclusion, education, and social connection. While their physical venue at Hope House has recently closed, their work continues through vital online services and the furbd digital inclusion project, which provides refurbished tech and digital training to people in need. As a community-minded business, we were proud to play a part in supporting this transition by improving their main building. Our role was to carry out a full window installation project that would modernise and secure the structure while helping reduce long-term maintenance and heating costs. For a charity working to stretch every pound, energy efficiency and durability were top priorities — and we were happy to deliver a solution that fit the brief.

Large-Scale Installation for a Multi-Use Community Space

This project required a large-scale installation due to the size and layout of the building. Spread over multiple floors and elevations, the property demanded careful planning and a phased approach to minimise disruption and ensure consistency throughout. We supplied and installed high-specification uPVC windows, known for their excellent energy efficiency, low maintenance, and secure locking systems — all essential for buildings serving public-facing or community-focused functions. The previous windows were dated and underperforming, leading to significant heat loss, higher energy bills, and a tired appearance. By replacing them with modern units, we were able to vastly improve thermal performance, reduce drafts, and enhance the overall comfort of the internal spaces. These changes make a real difference in a charity environment where warm, welcoming, and safe surroundings matter — not just for staff and volunteers, but for the vulnerable individuals they support. Every unit was installed to the highest standards, with clean finishes and uniform appearance throughout.

Balancing Functionality with Community Values

Working with charitable organisations means understanding that the value of a project goes beyond materials and installation — it's about helping them serve their mission better. For this project, we tailored our process to accommodate The Hope Foundation’s operational needs. This included flexible scheduling, minimal disruption, and maintaining a clean, respectful working environment. Every installation was approached with care, ensuring durability, weatherproofing, and long-term usability. The new uPVC windows not only offer cost-saving benefits through improved insulation, but they also reinforce the building's safety with robust multi-point locks. In a post-COVID environment where digital services and hybrid working are essential, ensuring the building remains comfortable year-round helps support staff productivity and remote coordination. These windows reflect more than a property upgrade — they represent a strategic investment in the future of the charity and its ongoing commitment to serve Middlesbrough’s communities. We’re proud to have aligned our skills with the foundation’s core values: care, support, and sustainability.

Giving Back Through Craftsmanship

At Above & Beyond, we believe in supporting the communities we work in — and this project with The Hope Foundation was a perfect example of giving back in a meaningful way. While we bring high-quality craftsmanship to every job, it’s especially rewarding to apply those skills in service of organisations that uplift others. We took great care to ensure that our window installations in Middlesbrough not only improved the building’s appearance but delivered real, lasting value for the charity. The transformation is already noticeable: reduced heat loss, improved security, and a cleaner, more professional façade. With the building now better equipped to support the charity’s evolving needs, it can continue to serve as a base for digital inclusion initiatives and community outreach. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support a charity doing vital work — and we encourage other local organizations to reach out if they’re looking for dependable, cost-effective solutions for their properties.
