Our Guarantee
Choosing new windows or doors is a significant investment in your home. Above & Beyond Windows provides written guarantee protection covering specified products and installation workmanship, helping customers understand what is covered after their project has been completed.
Some qualifying products carry up to ten years of cover, but different components have different guarantee periods. The terms supplied with your installation should always be retained because they confirm the commencement date, installed products, applicable cover and relevant conditions.

Product Guarantee Periods
The exact written guarantee issued for an installation remains the definitive document.
uPVC and Aluminium Frame Cover
Qualifying uPVC frames are covered for up to ten years against failures involving welded joints, distortion and surface finish, provided they have been maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements.
Qualifying aluminium frames are also covered for up to ten years against failures involving joints, distortion and coating. As with all product cover, the applicable period will be the stated Above & Beyond period or the manufacturer’s guarantee period where that is shorter.
Regular cleaning and appropriate maintenance help protect surface finishes and ensure moving parts continue to operate correctly.

Timber Frames, Glass and Door Panels
Timber frames are covered for up to five years against qualifying failures involving joints, distortion and rot when properly maintained. Timber requires suitable ongoing care, so customers should follow the product manufacturer’s maintenance guidance.
Insulated glass units are covered for up to five years against failure of the hermetic seal. This relates to misting or moisture forming between the panes of the sealed unit. It should not be confused with condensation forming on the internal or external surface of the glass, which can be influenced by temperature, humidity and ventilation.
Door panels carry up to five years of cover against qualifying failures involving joints, distortion and surface finish when adequately maintained.

Hardware Cover
Locking mechanisms, hinges and other metallic moving parts carry up to one year of cover against qualifying failure. Hardware is used repeatedly and may require cleaning, adjustment or lubrication in accordance with the relevant manufacturer’s instructions.
The guarantee does not cover cosmetic deterioration to handles, letter plates and similar items resulting from ordinary wear and tear.
Workmanship Guarantee
Installation workmanship is covered for two years. This applies to physical faults or installation errors caused by defective workmanship.
The workmanship period is separate from the product guarantee. A uPVC frame may carry up to ten years of product cover, for example, while the workmanship associated with fitting it is covered for two years.
If you believe there is a problem with an installation, contact Above & Beyond Windows with the project reference, commencement date and a description of the issue. This allows the team to review the work and determine whether an inspection is required.
Certass Registration and Building Regulations
Above & Beyond Windows operates alongside Certass registration for relevant work. Certass is a Government-authorised certification body whose approved members can self-certify qualifying installations as an alternative to using Building Control. Further information about the scheme is available directly from Certass.
Where work is registered through an applicable Competent Person Scheme, the supplied guarantee includes six years of cover relating to a breach of the Building Regulations that were in force when the work was completed.
The guarantee also states that Building Regulations guarantee activities may be assigned to a third party without written permission. Other eligible aspects of the guarantee may be transferred to a new owner of the goods, subject to the stated £50 administration charge.

Conditions and Exclusions
Guarantee periods begin on the commencement date shown on the individual guarantee document. Customers should keep this paperwork safely because it contains the installation address, reference and applicable start date.
Where a qualifying material failure is caused by faulty workmanship, the guarantee allows for repair or replacement at the installation company’s discretion.
The guarantee does not promise to eliminate condensation. It also excludes cosmetic deterioration caused by ordinary wear and tear. Cover may be made void where a product has been misused, tampered with or damaged. In those circumstances, remedial work may still be available for an agreed fee paid before the work begins.
Where a dispute concerns the terms of the guarantee, the Certass-nominated Alternative Dispute Resolution provider may be used to help mediate.
